BMW is looking to increase their sales in electric and hybrid vehicles next year by 50 percent to put themselves ahead of the competition. Other auto companies have been producing electric and hybrid vehicles for a long time so BMW is looking to catch up and win. “ We ’ll definitely boost sales by a mid-double digit amount,” said Klaus Froehlich, BMW’s head of development. “This is to stay ahead of the competition that’s starting to do its own rollout”   (Collin Woodward, Motor Trend) It seems as if BMW is kind of stretching their goal. They plan spending $8.3 billion to produce a full line of electric and hybrid vehicles. They plan to offer 12 different types of EV's but are listing them at an enormous price of $100,000 or more. At the LA Convention Center, cars of all companies were on display in the large center as tourists flooded the area. Between the four exhibits, the Garage, Galpin's Hall of Customs, and the two tiers of automobiles, there were bright, colorful displays with elaborate presentations. The Ford GT was the first car on display at the auto show. This super car is extremely famous and Jay Leno has this car featured on his show  "Jay Leno's Garage." To the right of the display, a GT simulator is available for people to try and experience what racing the race would look like. People sitting in chairs with the phones in front of their eyes were reacting to the speed and excitement of the simulator. The Ford GT sits sideways on the wall in the first level of the show. This black and yellow GT has a staircase that leads up with a deck designed specifically for taking pictures of the display. The all new Jeep Scrambler will now come with an optional top that can be lowered or taken off, hence the soft top. The truck will now have the ability to be a convertible jeep truck. The Scrambler is the next generation of the Jeep Wrangler. The latest model of the Wrangler is the JL Wrangler which will be on display at this years LA auto show. The Los Angeles Convention Center hosts the LA Auto Show for the 100th year this December.  Packed full with new cars and prototypes, the show will display over 50 new vehicle debuts, custom cars and after market cars including text drives.
